Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that allows artists, authors, publishers and musicians the option of creating and defining a flexible copyright for their creative works. In earlier days authors kept all rights to their works. With the licenses of Creative Commons authors can decide in what way others can make use of their work.

You may have noticed that in all licenses you have to give credit to the author. This means that you always have to put a link in your blog/website to the website where you took the picture, video, piece of music etc. from.
